Arbitration 2009/2010
The Industrial Relations Commission handed down its Stage 2 Arbitration decision on June 25, bringing an end to the AEU's long running industrial dispute with the State Government. Following on from the Stage 1 salaries decision which was handed down on February 10 this year, the Stage 2 workload and modes of employment decision brings very significant improvements for preschools, schools and TAFEs.
In its decision, the Commission has recognised that education workers have been overworked, underpaid and dragged away from their core job of teaching students.
