Federal Funding Review

For the first time since 1973, the Federal Government is conducting a review of funding to schools. It is vital that AEU members and supporters of Public Education take this opportunity to lobby the Federal Government for a fair and just outcome for public schools across the nation.

The AEU will be campaigning vigorously in the lead up to and beyond the Federal Election to ensure that public education gets a better deal. This is the biggest opportunity in over 30 years to change the outdated and unfair SES (Socio-economic Status) model, which provides private schools with a disproportionate amount of taxpayer's dollars. As AEU Federal President Angelo Gavrielatos recently pointed out, the SES system has been corrupted; 50 percent of private schools receiving more money than they are entitled to.
