Every School Every Child logoHelp us reach 10,000 signatures on our student support petition

Every child in every school and preschool deserves the support they need to be successful. Funding is at the heart of support in our public education system. With proper funding complex needs are supported, our classrooms are not overcrowded and children can thrive.

But right now, too many children and young people are missing out on this support. Not only does this disadvantage their learning, it also leads to an unmanageable workload for teachers, leaders and support staff in schools and preschools.

As part of the Every School Every Child campaign, we are circulating a petition urging the Marshall State Government to increase funding to schools and preschools, providing immediate support and intervention for children and students with additional learning needs through the employment of more support staff, specialists and allied health (including mental health) professionals, and teachers.

A minimum of 10,000 signatures will trigger a Parliamentary committee inquiry into the levels of support and intervention available for children and students with additional learning needs. Tabling the petition in Parliament will also help us to focus political and public attention on the critical issue of support for students and children.

We need every member to get active in collecting signatures for this petition so that we can reach 10,000 and demonstrate to politicians that the community cares about support for students and children. Anyone can sign it including members, non-members, support staff, parents and family members.
