Details:

This union training event aims to engage Aboriginal members in a day of talking about member’s thoughts and actions in regard to union activities, member engagement and building a new picture in public education.

The day will focus on increasing member knowledge of the current AEU SA campaign “Respect”.

Plus, our afternoon workshop will be run by Wayne Costelloe from First Nations Workers Alliance on “Building workplace leaders”.

Information on First Nations Workers Alliance:
All Australians deserve the opportunity to have a good, steady job and the dignity of work. The Morrison Government’s Community Development Program (CDP) is depriving tens of thousands of people of that opportunity. It’s punitive, heavy-handed and racially discriminatory and the Union movement is determined to see it removed.

The First Nations Workers’ Alliance is a new organisation which will campaign to end the CDP and replace it with a program that works for Indigenous people rather than oppressing them.
